So it’s time to see what else I got in my recent Colour Pop hauls :)
This week’s blog is going to be on the Super Shock Shadows I got. I’m going to try not to waffle too much in this blog so you can get on and see the gorgeous colours! Although I do just want to talk about the formula, these are really soft and like nothing I have ever seen before, they are ‘spongey’ when you touch them and when you press down it’s like a memory foam pillow! I love it! They do say not to leave these lying around without the lid on as it will ruin the product.
First up is Girly, a pearlised finish. This is a creamy vanilla-white, with gold and a little bit of pink duo chrome mixed in. I got this to apply to the tear duct to really highlight the inner corner of the eye, it does look more of a rose gold when on the eye.
Next is Eye Candy, a metallic finish. This is a pale pink looking lavender with loads of silver and pink glitter. The pink/lavender wasn’t as intense on the eye as it was on the swatch, but the silver glitter was there all day long, so if you’re after a glittery look this is for you, but if you are after something more pink, a matte or pearlised one might be a better option for you.
Next is Sugar, a metallic finish. This is a silvery-pale blue, with silver, champagne and gold flecks of glitter. It looks a little greenish in the pot too. When I used this I did get bits of the glitter stuck to my lashes (no-one else could see them, but I kept seeing bits reflecting the light when I blinked) just to warn you. Although, I didn’t notice the glitter fall out from Eye Candy so not sure if it’s because I used Sugar on my lower lash line that caused bits to stick to my lashes?
Next is Taco, a matte finish. This is a lovely baby blue. You can apply this as a wash of colour or you can build it up to something much brighter. This reminds me of summer so much. I also have to say, after you’ve left these on for a bit they do last, they don’t smudge off and were quite hard to completely remove from my arm!
Next is Etiquette, a pearlised finish. This is a gorgeous deep blue with pink and blue reflects. I had to get this after I watched Desi Perkins’ video on YouTube on her Cobalt Blue Smokey Eye look. I’ve linked her video for you as it just looks amazing! This is such a highly pigmented eyeshadow, I can’t stop looking at the swatch on my hand!
Next is Telepathy, an ultra-metallic finish. This is from the set ‘Where the night is’ the first set that Kathleen Lights collaborated with Colour Pop to make. It’s a bright yellow gold with a green undertone and gold reflects in it. It is super bright and pigmented. And is my absolute favourite. I tried to copy the look Kathleen Lights did with this and the Gwen Stefani Eye Shadow Palette (link to my review on that pallet here), just to show you how intense this colour is on the eyes. I’ve also linked the video of Kathleen Lights‘s tutorial for you to see how it was done.
And lastly is Ibiza, a metallic finish. This is a turquoise green with what looks like gold and turquoise glitters through it. This is another one that makes me think of the summer, and the reason why I ordered it. I love to use this underneath my lower lash line for a pop of colour.
I’ve just noticed that both Taco and Ibiza are no longer available on the Colour Pop website! So sorry if you saw these and wanted to get them! I was lucky to have gotten my hands on them when I did!
I am now a huge fan of the Super Shock Shadow’s, my favourites are the brighter colours I think especially as these shadows are better when applied using your finger. I struggle to use them with a brush especially if trying to blend them out into my crease.
I hope you enjoyed this blog! :)
