I can’t believe I’ve only just discovered Kiko Milano Cosmetics. Their stuff is awesome! I’ve heard of Kiko products but not that much, so I never thought about trying them. What convinced me to try them was a YouTube video I’d seen by Kaushal Beauty. It was her Purple & Lilac Full Face Affordable Prom Makeup video, and she used one of the Kiko Eyeshadow Sticks, which I liked the look of. So I hopped onto the Kiko website and went to order it. But you had to spend a minimum of £25 before they would ship, so I had a little look around and came across their Limited Edition Desert Dunes Baked Bronzer. This comes in 2 shades, 200 Warm Melange, the lighter shade and, 201 Sienna Melange. I opted for 200 Warm Melange because the darker one looks a similar colour to MAC’s Give Me Sun and I have that so wanted something a little different.
Honestly the reason I ordered this apart from I needed to make my order over £25, wasn't because I needed another bronzer, but because it looked so damn pretty! It’s full of bronze and golden swirls, it’s just stunning.
When this arrived I was even more impressed because it’s gigantic! It comes in a pretty white box with gold trim and when you open it, it’s a huge golden compact with a cute hexagonal design on the lid. It looks like a purse it’s that big! It’s very satisfying to hold. If you get me. Because it’s so big and pretty, it’s also quite weighty, I want to flash it around for everyone to see!
When you open it you get the beauty of the baked bronzer swirls and it also smells of chocolate! In fact, a kind of rubbery chocolate if there would be such a thing? But I’m literally in heaven right now! There is also a good sized mirror in the compact too for on the go touch ups.
Now, you have to lightly tap (and I say tap and not swirl for a reason) your brush into the bronzer because you get a whole lotta product in one tiny tap! It would be so easy to get a great big bronze splodge on your face! It’s plenty pigmented but although you get a lot of product on your brush, even with the lightest of touches it actually went on really evenly and was easy to blend. I’m not sure the darker shade would be so easy though, but I’ve not tried it so I can’t say. But with this lighter shade you can build the colour intensity up which is great I was worried it’d be too much product but it blends so well it’s not a problem.
This swatch is how dark you an get it just to show you how pigmented it is.
This has very fine shimmer in it so definitely a bronzer and not so much a contour colour, although the shimmer is so fine because it’s a baked powder, there isn’t any chunky specs of sparkle so it just gives a beautiful glow.
I absolutely love this bronzer so, so, much, this shade is great for fair skin, just be very light handed with it, but you can also build up the colour to suit darker complexions too.
I am 100% getting more stuff from Kiko, and I highly recommend you to try them too, some of their products are really cheap like some eyeshadows are half price at the moment at only £2.80, but then there is some that is more expensive. This bronzer was £22.90 which is quite a lot but you get sooooo much of it! And I think it may be because it’s a limited edition item.
Oh and I loved the eyeshadow stick I originally went onto their site to buy too, might do a separate review on that.
Let me know if you’ve tried any of Kiko’s products and let me know what I should be getting from them to try next :)
