Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette

Hello, my lovelies! The Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette has been around for a while now and is still a favourite of everyone's and I'm about to tell you why!

Firstly, the packaging is too cute, it looks like a bar of chocolate, it's sturdy and is easy to open and stays securely closed with a magnetic lid. Inside there is a long mirror and of course the trademark chocolate scented eye shadows. They really do smell good enough to eat, although I've not tried! There is a great range of colours from light browbone shades, lots of nudes for transition colours, dark shades for the crease, shimmery and matte shades and even a few pops of colour for the lid. And I love how all the names of the shadows are chocolate or dessert related :)

KathleenLights an American YouTuber (who I'm sure you would have heard of) did a couple gorgeous looks in her 'Two Looks Using Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette | Tutorial' video, I've linked it for you to go check it out for some ideas.

Right, let's have a look at the eyeshadows!

Starting with the top row, first up is Gilded Ganache, this is a brown with golden shimmer throughout, it looks like it might be a bit green in the pan but is definitely brown when swatched.

Next is White Chocolate, this is quite a creamy white, great for the brow bone because it's matte and is very light, so if you wanted to build up a strong white you'd need to really layer this and I'd suggest using a primer underneath it to make the colour stand out a bit more.

Next is Milk Chocolate, a gorgeous light brown, milky nude. This is actually lighter than my swatch, not sure why this looks so dark in my pic! This is a great transition colour as it's matte and a nice light colour but it can be built up to be darker and more intense.

Next is Black Forest Truffle, a shimmery brown with gold, red and purple shimmers, this is a warmer brown than Gilded Ganache, it looks a bit red-purple in the pan but comes off a red-brown on the skin.

Last on the top row is Triple Fudge, a dark matte brown. This is a cool toned brown and great for deepening up the outer v crease.

Now for the middle row. First up is Salted Caramel, this is a matte peachy nude, another great transition shade if you like the warmer transition colours.

Next is Marzipan, one of my favourites in this palette. This is a shimmery peachy gold and is gorgeous on the lid and also great to highlight the inner corner of your eye.

Next is Semi-Sweet, a darker matte brown transition shade, great for deepening up the crease. I'd say this was a cool toned brown but it looks a bit reddy in my pic, grrr.

Next is Strawberry Bon Bon, a really pretty matte pink. Now, I don't know about you, but I find it quite hard to find light, matte pink eyeshadows, anyone else think this? So really pleased to have this colour in this palette, as been after a nice one for quite some time now!

Next is Candied Violet, the reason I wanted this palette! This is a shimmery violet, with pink and blue shimmer. Absolutely gorgeous colour! KathleenLights did a beautiful look using this colour in the video I linked earlier, go have a look if you haven't already.

Last on this row is Amaretto, another beautiful shimmery colour. I struggle to describe some colours and this is one of those ones. The best way I can describe this is a rusty, pink/red-brown with pink shimmers. Another nice lid colour.

The bottom row starts off with Hazelnut, a shimmery, caramel brown with gold shimmers.

Next is Creme Brulee, a shimmery gold. This is a light pure gold and is gorgeous on the lid.

Next is Haute Chocolate, (I love that name!) This is yet another shimmer! This time it's a shimmery brown as we've had loads of matte browns. This is a taupe-brown and has golden shimmers through it. It looks a lot darker in my swatches picture, apologies for the bad lighting!

Next is Cherry Cordial, this is a matte red-brown with pink and violet reflects in it. It looks really red-purple in the pan but comes off more of a brown on the skin and you don't see much of the reflects when you apply this, so I'd treat this a matte.

And lastly in this palette is Champagne Truffle, a shimmery pink. This is a really, really light pink with gold shimmers. This is great as a shimmery brow bone highlight if you prefer that to a matte brow highlight. It's very light and can look like a shimmery white if applied lightly, but the more you build this up, the more pink it becomes (to a point).

Overall I love this palette. It was my favourite until I got the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Palette. I've linked that review if you want to see why I love it. The One thing I love about this palette that the Tarte one doesn't have, is that the shadows smell of chocolate. This is such a good touch, I can't stop sniffing this palette!

This palette reminds me of those tin pencil cases you used to take to school but is way cooler! I think this has some beautiful colours. There are a lot of variations of browns, but I think that's good, as for most eye looks I use brown transition shades, so having ones that range from light to medium to dark is a Godsend. As I find in a lot of palettes you'll get one brown transition shade and you have to make it blend with the other colours, whereas if there is a range, all the hard work with blending is pretty much done for you! That's just my opinion anyway.

I really want to try the Peanut Butter and Jelly Too Faced Palette, purely because of that purple shade they have! I've noticed that whenever I buy a palette, it's usually because of one colour that I want! Yet I know that if they did that one colour as a single eyeshadow, I probably wouldn't buy it....weird right? But I bet some of you can relate to what I'm saying lol

Please let me know your favourite Too Faced eyeshadow palettes! I'd love to hear what you think.

Love to you all :)
