Hi all, thought I'd do a post on a few things that just didn’t impress me one way or another. I tend to write about products that I like because they excite me and I want to share my love of these products with you, but I also like to see what others have to say about things that haven’t impressed them too, and why.

The first thing I recently got was the L’Oreal Infallible Sculpt contouring palette. I got mine in the shade 01 Light/Medium. Now, at first I thought this was amazing. It comes in a cute hand sized compact, with a contour shade and a highlight. It has a mirror and little instructions. What I loved about this was the formula, I couldn’t tell if it was a cream or powder! I know you’re all going to be thinking, come on Amanda, a cream and a powder are totally different things! But honest to God, this stuff screwed with my head big time. When you touch it, it feels like a cream, it’s soft and moist but as soon as it touches your face it turns into a powder and it’s easy to blend in. It’s lush and velvety. I found the best way to use this was to apply with my fingers or a small flat brush then blend in after with a bigger brush or a beauty blender. The contour shade was ok I didn’t mind that so much but I had real issues with the highlighting shade, I found this just dried my skin really badly and left it flaky. I have dry skin so this is a big no no for me. It was very matte and just too drying which is a shame as I love the formula, but it’s just not something I can use. If you have oily skin this wold be perfect for you.

Next disappointment was the Rosie for Autograph Dream Big Lashes Mascara. This is the Marks & Spencer Autograph makeup range collaboration with model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. I actually received this in my Look Incredible beauty box and was quite excited to try this. The packaging is so pretty in rose gold and I’d heard good reviews on this range. The mascara itself is good, I like the formula, it lasts and I don’t end up with panda eyes at the end of the day but I have an issue with the packaging. The mascara clumps up over the end of the wand and and across the bristles of the wand and if I’m not careful I end up with a  great big clump of mascara in the middle of my eye (not a good look!) So I have to blot the wand first or scrape it across the end of the barrel before I can use it and I can’t be bothered with that when I have so many other mascaras that I don’t need to do that with to be able to use. Such a shame as I like the mascara just not the packaging. And even when you push the wand back into the tube all the excess gets squeezed back up the wand into the lid.

Last disappointing thing on my list is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Cream Kit. I got the Medium kit as I wanted the Warm Coral colour to colour correct the bags under my eyes. Now this stuff is pigmented but it is also so hard to blend! The two things together make this impossible to work with, at least for me anyway. Plus, you don’t want to be rubbing away under the delicate eye area just to get this to blend in. I got a really, cheap cream contour palette off eBay and the yellow was so good to brighten under the eyes as it was soft and easy to blend, so I was hoping for the same with this, but nope, even if you warm it up with your fingers first I still found this really hard to work with. And with this being Anastasia Beverly Hills and not that cheap I really expected something amazing but sadly just wasn’t a fan of this cream contour kit.

Let me know if you have any of these products and if there’s a way I can get them to work better for me?
